Rittman Fire & Rescue conducts annual fire safety inspections on businesses, schools, churches, day-care centers, nursing homes, and other occupancies as required by the Ohio Fire Code. These inspections are designed to reduce the risk of fires, explosions, and other hazards and provide for the overall safety of the businesses and industry within the community.
During the inspection, we will be looking for safety violations, reviewing service records for fire protection systems and portable fire extinguishers, as well as updating contact information. We will work side-by-side with business owners to provide a safe working environment.
If you are servicing or installing a fire suppression system, building or renovating a commercial structure, or wish to change the use of a commercial occupancy, please contact our Inspection Bureau to help you through this process.
Currently Rittman Fire & Rescue does not charge for Fire Inspections, nor do they issue any type of permits.
For all construction, building, and zoning questions and permits, please contact the Wayne County Building Department and Rittman City Hall prior to beginning any project. This will help you get all of the required permits and paperwork needed, in order to expedite the process of your project.
